What do you think about Lorenzo's robot story? Why would the author write this story for Lorenzo? What does it reveal about his character?

  1. I think Lorenzo's robot story is very creative and chaos. It is a story look she serious but its all nonsense. Maybe the author want to present that Lorenzo do not care his Grandmother. Also Lorenzo is in a rush, he need to finish the story quickly and give the drug to his sister. However he still finish this story to his grandmother. At least Lorenzo have some respect on his grandmother and listen to her wish. Although this character still have this disorder, he still respects people he need to respect. Or he has a brilliant camouflage.

    1. He does certainly have a brilliant camouflage. Do you think the story he told reveals something about his camouflage, or about his true nature? Or both?

  2. Lorenzo's robot story is really interesting with a lot of messed up things involved in it. I believe the author wrote this story is just to let readers think that Lorenzo didn't really care about his grandma, he made up a really long story and he didn't wanted to make a ending at first. However he did in the end, for his grandma. I can see that he has quite a lot of imagination and there's still something that people can learn from him.

    1. What about the story makes you think that Lorenzo doesn't care about his grandmother?

  3. Lorenzo’s robot story is too unrealistic and impractical. How could a pool-cleaning robot kill people and help the president of the United States? How could it reproduce like a turtle? Although William and Jason said that the author wanted to show that Lorenzo do not care his grandmother, I think it is an exact opposite. At last, he made up another ending for his grandmother, which was better than the robot suicided in the ocean. In this way, Lorenzo presented his love to his grandmother, and it showed his human nature.

  4. Lorenzo's robot story is very "imaginary" and he was just make up a story in a short time so it was kind of not in order. And I don't think his grandmother likes it, but she still try to wake up and listen the story. Lorenzo wasn't make a real ending, because he doesn't think ending is very important. Also he didn't want to stay there because if someone else see him, they must tell his parents and he will get in trouble. In addition he had to sent the pills to Amanda. Although he was in rush, he still finished the story for his grandmother, we can see he is value on kinship.

  5. I think the robot story was very unrealistic and very cruel. I think his story really shows how much he is isolated from the society but still cares about his grandma because he changed the ending of the story.

  6. Lorenzo is telling his Grandmother the story of the robot in the hospital. It shows that he really does care about his grandmother, but he does not like the way she will probably die in the hospital. Telling the story takes his mind off of the fact that he is there with his grandmother and that he is there to see if he can get the drugs for his step-sister. The author tells the story because it shows that Lorenzo is trying to help his grandmother and his step-sister, but his mind works in a strange way. The story talks about death but then he changes the ending and the robot comes out of the sand on the beach with some scientists and baby sea turtles – and then baby K19s pop up too. Lorenzo then asks his grandmother is she likes that ending and she nods to him that she does.
