  1. The audience for this novel is young women. This book tells the problems, the good sides, and the confusing times of a young woman. The ideal readers can be young college students who are girls, and who studies away from their homes. The book helps people to understand these kind of people's lives, so people other than young women can read it, too to understand this book. People who'll read this book would like the main character's characteristics. She is kind, helping, caring, This character makes people read the book. I think that other than the topic or the events in the books, the readers would like the the main character, Sookan.

  2. In my opinion, the audience for this move is young students. Because the whole story is about Sookan, a student. And students may feel the same in some way with her. Also, the ideal reader can be young international students, who are girls. Because Sookan is a girl who is studying abroad, so if it is the same age and same position, they might enjoy Sookan's story more. They will like about how did Sookan solve all the problems she had met in the book. Because they could meet the same problem. But if they read the book, they will have more idea how to solve them.

  3. The audience for my novel is students because this novel is mostly about Sookan, who is a college student. I think the ideal readers are international students. The reason is the main character, Sookan from South Korea, is studying in the United States which tells me that she is one of international students. In addition, if the international students read this novel, they probably sympathize a lot of situations that Sookan always struggles with. Therefore, the ideal readers will like about the similarity between Sookan and themselves.

  4. I think all the students whole are studying aboard are Gathering of Pearls's ideal readers. It is because in this book, the author prescript a girl's experience of studying alone in America. In her experience those students could also find some similar points between them. For example, they can find out how to make the balance between study and social life, and how to make new friends. The author wrote the story with the first person view, therefore the audiences could also know about the protagonist's inner world , and understand her feelings , as well as her future plan. Therefore, I think they would like this book, because this book is more like a mirror, and a guide light to give them the right direction.

  5. The audience of my novel will be mainly concentrate on young people, because the plots, settings and all the other things are close to their lives. It's so easy to get audience if the story matches their real lives. I personally enjoy this book because I get new experience from it. The main character, Sookan's life is full of new challenges on relationships and works, which is a common phenomenon among young people these days.

  6. The book I read which was gathering the pearls was probably targeted to people with concerns especially students. The reason why it is targeted to certain people, is because this book is written based on a person's experiences and feelings which some could agree and feel sympathy to her circumstances. If such people read this book, they will feel relieved that they are not the only ones who are concerned and confused. Furthermore the readers would feel glad at the end of the book because Sookan finishes her year with a lot of fun and good memories.

  7. I think every international students is the audience for this novel. Especially the person who have the same circumstances like Sookhan, first time on America, the only Korean in the school, and constantly feeling the cultural differences. However, it could be really hard to find the ideal audience of this novel, because it is written in 1960s, in that time period, there were no things to call between Korea and America. Actually, they could call, but it was really expensive, so they just sent the mail each others, which made them feel lonely. However, nowadays, people can call to their mother country very easily, even they can have face time with family. Therefore, it is really hard to find ideal audience who have same circumstances as Sookhan, but I want to recommend this book to every international students.
