Me and You, Blog 11

What do you think of the ending? For a writer, the ending is often the most difficult part to write. Some people say that an ending should feel both surprising and inevitable. Does this ending fit that description? Is it a "feel good" ending? Is it more complicated? How so? Does it tie up loose ends, or does it leave things messy and unresolved?

  1. The ending is suprising and depressed. This ending is supring and inevitable, it prefectly fill the description. However it does not feel good, it give you a kind of feeling like even how hard you tried, at last she will die. Because of the ending happenes several years later, it makes me feel "Did I skip some chapters?" sort of feelings. It makes me feels complicated, "Is she really married or not?" there is so many things left by. For another example, did Lorenzo's parents find out he is lying to them? Do Olivia really have a wonderful life after married or not... etc. So the ending does not explain many things, and makes me feel complicated and depressed.

  2. The ending of Me and You made me heartsick. Usually, I prefer to read some books which do not have happy endings. However, this ending is too dejected and disappointed. Olivia was one of the most significant characters in this book, but she died at the end of the story. According to the book, her life was kind of hard, and she even could not have a happy ending. When I read this book, I though that Olivia would live with her family members again, but the ending was really surprised and complicated.

  3. After reading the final chapter, it makes me felt happy and sad. In the end, Lorenzo faced everything true about him, he himself noticed that he want to hang out with others, he want to go ski. Even though the writer didn't say what happened after the last night of Lorenzo and his sister, I believe his life had changed, he made a lot of friends and he might have a happy family. After many years, he always kept that piece of note. I can understand how important that piece of note is, and for me, that's a piece of important memory, or it's the most valuable one. The ending was sad, his sister died of an overdose. I don't know how Lorenzo felt at that time, his sister promised him never do drugs again that night but she died because of that. He might blame his sister for taking drugs again but everything was late, the only thing he can do in his last five minutes with her was just remembering, remember the time when they were together and remember the one and only sister he had.

  4. After I read the book, I am really surprised about the ending, because the writer didn't talk about how was the lie went, and I think that is the most important thing I was forces on. The first half part of the book was all taking about how he made up the lie and try to hide it forever. But in the end, the writer didn't mention it at all. Also the ending didn't tell us how did Lorenzo make home and something like that.
Expect that, I kind of like the ending because the letter from Olivia is very interesting, the writer use the letter instead of make them say goodbye. That give us a lot of suspense. And it shows how Olivia in the end, but didn't say any thing about how was Lorenzo's life goes. So I think it is kind of mess.

  5. The ending was very surprising. The ending was very sad. I didn't expected that Olivia was going to die. It was very heart breaking ending. I prefer happy ending story. However, I still liked the ending because it was surprising. Also even though it was little complicated but still surprising so I really liked it.

  6. The end of the book I thought about crying. I would like to go into the book and change what happened. It ruined my day and I thought I wanted to go back to the ending and change what happened.
The ending of the book was unfair. Life is unfair. I wish that Olivia would stay alive. I wish she wasn’t a drug addict. I wish that she was alive so that she could still be with Lorenzo in his life.
This ending was not a surprise, because I thought she was going to die because she was using drugs a lot. The ending is complicated because Olivia dies, but she and Lorenzo become close again and she makes Lorenzo happy. Then when Olivia dies, Lorenzo feels very bad.
Olivia dies and you really don’t know what happens with Lorenzo’s parents or what happens to Lorenzo. The ending leaves you wondering if his parents will yell at him or what will happen to Lorenzo. Will his parents punish him? What will happen to him?
